My husband and I moved to Wilmington a little over a year ago with our three dogs and cat.  We moved from Alabama and all of our family and friends.  When the holidays came, we weren't sure what to do about the doggies.  Packing two boxers and a husky seemed a little crowded.  We tried boarding once, but found it costly and the dogs were unhappy.

Then we found Animal Friends of Wilmington.  Animal Friends was a great addition to our family...literally.  They always came through when we needed them and they genuinely care about the dogs, especially the husky, Natasha, who has trouble with new people and places.  This past July, my husband's father passed away and we had to make an unexpected trip to Alabama.  Animal Friends was a phone call away and had no problem taking care of the dogs.  Animal Friends even sent us a sympathy card!  We can't even begin to express how much we appreciate this organization!

Katrina and Ophelia were rescued from a terrible situation in Greensboro during the late summer of Hurricanes Katrina and Ophelia, hence their names. Appropriately enough, they love water!  Animal Friends lets them play in the kitchen sink while he is visiting, and they love that. When we return home, they are contented and healthy.  We travel in peace knowing the girls are being more than just fed!

When our cat, Jazz, was diagnosed with kidney failure several years back, as a family, we were devastated. We quickly discovered that our devastation would turn into sheer panic when we realized that we needed to find someone whom we trusted to give him fluid injections every three days when we went out of town on vacation for weeks at a time. Considering the fact that we have had Jazz for over 12 years, we could not imagine anyone that could possibly care for him as much or the way that we did. We spent an exorbitant amount of time searching Wilmington and the surrounding areas to find someone that fit the incredibly high criteria that we had set for a pet professional to care for Jazz. When we came across Animal Friends, our interest was peaked, but we were still unsure. That all changed when we met Kathy. Her warm personality and genuine love for animals made us quickly comfortable and we knew that we could leave knowing that Jazz was in good hands. Our gut feeling was confirmed. Not only would Kathy answer the phone whenever we called, but when we returned from our vacations, Jazz was just as happy as ever. We could tell that Kathy treated Jazz as if he were her own animal. We could not ask for more out of Animal Friends and that says a lot considering we are very finicky customers who find that few people actually live up to what they say as far as meeting our expectations. We will always trust Animal Friends with our furry family members. Thank you Kathy for the special attention that you give to all of your animals. You are truly a gift.
